A follow-up to "Live Another Life Day"

As some of you know, and some of you don't, yesterday was "Live Another Life Day" . I'd like to thank oxfordboy for organizing it, I had a lot of fun doing it.

My character, Lucy "Peaches" McGriff, is sort of my alter-ego. There were quite a few truths mingling with the fantasy of her reality. She's sort of like a younger, brasher version of myself, the self that I think I might have been if I'd followed a different path. The self I think I might have been if I'd dyed my hair blue in high school, instead of working at a country tea house restaurant dressed as an Amish wet dream. The self I might have been if I'd followed my initial plan of getting some piss-ass job when I moved to Cincinnati waiting to go to Japan rather than freaking out about finances before I got there and landing a respectable 8:30-5:30 job with the company I'd worked for in Chicago for 7 years. The me who has her nose pierced, fronts a kick-ass punk band, and has a sexy tattoo of I-no on her arm and Faye Valentine on her shoulder blade. The me, basically, who takes a lot more risks, lives a much more bohemian lifestyle, who meshes better in the life my ex led rather than my own staid existence. Granted, I've been rather successful with what I do, being responsible, but in the corner of my mind, I always have the "what if?" questions gnawing away at me.

And now, Fun facts about yesterday's entry:

-Peaches McGriff was the stage name I decided on a long time ago (before the Moldy Peaches and Peaches existed). Lucille P. McGriff was the name on my fake ID (I decided the P stands for Penelope, but everyone calls me Peaches).

-Goddamn and the Door Slams is a real band (or was, I'm not sure how much they play together anymore). They perform covers of covers (like a cover of Cake's version of "I Will Survive). Their bassist does, in fact, have a great ass.

-I do have a friend, whose first initial happens to be D, who is currently learning bass guitar. Although I really want to learn bass, her plan is that I learn guitar, she learns bass, and we form a band when I get back to the States. I also have been writing lyrics like gangbusters lately, though I'm not sure if they're any good blush

-I did, in fact, apply for a job at a local burrito joint in Cincy which does have a live music night. Goddam and the Door Slams, however, never played there.

There might be more, but I'm quite tipsy having just gotten back from a b-day celebration for a friend of mine the next town over. But that's the gist of it.

You should write a comic or something about your alter ego!
