I am absolutely no good in a crisis. Or at least talking about them. Well, I can handle some situations, I have a history of being the go-to counselor for a lot of my friends, but the really serious stuff, what is there to say? I'm so awkward. One of the English teachers I work with told me today that her son, who's ill, has gotten worse and she's debating whether to quit working or not. How can I respond to that? Not to mention that her son is one of my students at another school.

As we drove home today and the sky wasn't completely dark yet, it occured to me how short the winter seems this year. I know that for a good chunk of it I was in the dumps, and it probably seemed a lot longer while I was slogging through it. But now that it's already bordering on March and staying light longer, it feels like it was a blink-and-you-missed-it season.

I found out I have a cat named after me.

Glad you like my rat! I told her the kind words you said and she responded with:

"Psssqueak!"

Then she began scrubbing herself rather vigorously.

biggrin

A cat named after you? Lucky! smile

Some people cave under pressure, not your fault! Just don't worry about a damn thing, and when something crisis-like happens, remain calm and assess the situation in the most logical fashion. It's what I do, and it's never let me down...

However a close one becoming ill isn't something you can react "positive" to... It's just one of those things. You just gotta say you hope they get better and pray they make it out in one piece...

And yeah, this Winter was exeptionally weak.
