war is ugly. the pictures are shocking and disturbing. but are the american people really surprised this stuff goes on? if we hadn't seen pictures would we happily go about our business thinking atrocities like this don't take place? i hate the pictures. but i'm honestly not surprised. imagine the shit they don't take pictures of. don't be fooled... there are monsters among us. and i return to my first sentence....

exactly. I'm really disturbed by the whole thing, mainly at the ignorance of those in power.

it just goes to show how insulated our society is to be surprised by the photos they see. war breeds this behavior. we're only seeing the slightest percentage of what's going on. we don't see the dead civilians, the maimed american soldiers, the back-stabbing political maneuvers. the more people see, the more they will question the integrity of our leader's motives. i can only hope that these images starting waking more people up to the reality that is Iraq.
