a brief rundown of my birthday yesterday:
now, let it first be said that i've never made a fuss of birthdays. oddly enough (for an only child), the last party i had was when i was eight years old. It was a cat-themed party, and i remember distinctly sending out the invitations as if it was my kitty, Gooseberry, who was turning eight, rather than myself. That year, as presents, I recieved 8 cans of tuna fish, some of those dangly mice, and a water dish.
so, yesterday, the boss decides that i will be "in charge" (always avoid being "in charge.") of the Great Shoe Migration of 2003. This involves carrying 8-high stacks of Harley Davidson shitkickers up and down three flights of stairs. For four hours. Has anyone ever had the pleasure of watching ESPN's "World's Strongest Man?" I think I perfected the squat-lift maneuver. You know, the one where all the cords stand out on the neck and such, heh.
Later I got to Envirocide the store wearing a Micheal Jackson airport facemask. That was actually the best part of the day, as I pretended that I was mysterious Mata Hari-type trickster. And then I was stalked by a dude from my gym, who made me show him 8 or 9 different leather wallets before saying, "Nah, I don't think I need a wallet. You look familiar....."
My parents sent me flowers, which was weird. They're not really flower people.
All in all, SG was the best part of the birthday. You guys are awesome for wishing me a good one.
Now I think I'm going to go give myself a haircut blindfolded.
edit: you all think i was kidding about the haircut. well, i did it, and it looks every bit as foolish as it should.
