Blah. Wishing I was a kept woman right about now. I want to visit a certain place often throughout the year, but weekly rates for hotels are ridiculous! I'm heavily considering a weekly rental somewhere, but I have no idea how to go about finding one that's safe. Or available on a regular basis. I'm thinking I'd like to spend at least one week a...

I'm mostly worried about the end price. Maybe a week is too long. Perhaps I should start with three days. I wish I could afford to rent a studio. It would be nice to be able to get away from here whenever I want. I knew I should have never moved. I am such an idiot.

Finally back home. Lonely, as usual. His car is stuck in my driveway, kind of how he's stuck in my head all the time. I miss my best friend something fierce.

On the upside, evidently I look about 12 years younger than I really am. Note to self, never grow up :o)

So, how does one meet older men other than online (though I'm not completely against online, I just have trust issues)? I find myself drawn to men a good deal older than myself. Not sure why. Maybe I have a daddy complex. But it's been 15 years since I dated. To say I'm a bit rusty would be an understatement.

Well, I'm an older guy (55) which I'll assure you is just a number, because I don't feel any different today than when I was 25, and I've dated several 20 something year old girls. I guess the first question would be what you define as "older," and the second would be what you're looking for in a "relationship?" For me, the pitfalls of dating younger women is contingent upon how seriously they take it, and what they want it to be? The main issue that has consistently turned out to be the death knell of these relationships are children. The girls I've dated love me to death, so much so they want to have my babies!! Well, I've been there and done that!! I've raised my kids and have no desire to start a whole new family in my 50's. So, if you want to have kids, you'd probably be better served dating someone closer to your age range. Also, there are four kinds of "older" men you'll run across. Married men looking for a fling, divorced men with bitter ex-wives, widowed men, and men who have never been married. My advise would be to stay away from all but the widowed men....like me!! smile Obviously getting involved with a married man, no matter what rational he tries to lay on you as justification for your presence in his life, is a BAD IDEA!! AND, just for the record, "Separated" is still married!! I'm not going to get down on divorced men, because let's face it, over 50% of all marriages end in divorce!! Consequently, being divorced is not necessarily a bad reflection on anyone, but if he has kids, his EX is still around in his life at some level and that always brings DRAMA into the relationship!! I've dated a number of 30 something year old divorced women with little ones and the EX is inevitably always brings issues into the relationship!! As for the guy who's never been married, well there's usually a VERY GOOD reason for that!! Fear of commitment would definitely be a consideration, but honestly I think the big issue is they are usually "Mamma's" boys!! Pampered and spoiled by a dotting Mom in their youth, they can never find a woman that lives up to Mom's standards. So, unless you think you can be his new Mommy, you don't want this guy in your life. Now for all us widowers, we aren't necessarily single by choice. If a guy is recently widowed, he may just be looking to fill a void in his life, and to be honest I went through that phase myself for awhile after my wife died. However, if a guy has managed to remain single a significant amount of time after his wife died, he's probably got his head screwed on straight. Ultimately, it's all going to come down to what you're looking for? If I could find a cute 29 year old girl who wanted to share my life, without the need to procreate and who maintained her own life, career, and friends, without feeling the need to live vicariously through me, I'd be all about it!!

On the upside, I've been seriously working on a half sleeve for my left arm. Definitely not as painful as I originally thought it would be.

Congratulations on the babies. But what happened? Are you ok?

And I'm DEFINITELY looking forward to the new pics!

By the way, Mom is finally home now...weak, but home nonetheless. Thanks for your concern. It's so great to have a friend like you... kiss
