The problem with chasing success is what do you do once you've caught it? I've never really been ambitious. Just always wanted to have enough to get by. So since I've got that. Now what?

So I see the site has been redesigned. And it seems to be very difficult to find anything. Le sigh

Taking the french connection camping in the Kruger on the 24th...
talamia:
french connection?
silvereye:
I've had a French tourist staying with me for the last couple of months. I'm teaching her how to be a field/culture guide.

I made someone's day today by giving them a job.

Worst thing is, it is not even a real job. It's part time data capturing. But I think the gratefulness comes from someone attaching value to what the person can do.

It makes me despair about the society we have created in this country.

That makes me smile, and even though it might not seem like it's much, I bet it's a whole lot to that person. If nothing else, it's something to put on his/her CV. smile

And that's a very small butterfly he's got there. shocked
silvereye:
True, but his person is old enough to be one of my parents. This country doesn't have a safety net. It's like walking a tight rope above a chasm filled with lions.

Things go better, things go worse, best not to get to worked up about things smile Ce la vie

Well the insurance hasn't told me what happened yet, but I think it is was a short circuit. Went through three fire extinguishers to try and douse the flames. Worst thin is that those are brand new tyres... Oh well so it goes, and the insurance will pay out eventually.

They are sister cats and will be three years old on December 24th this year. The long haired one is Apache, and the short hair is Serenity!

That's hectic! Dammit, we should all just go back to riding horses. surreal

Wow, that was a bit of a gap.

What can I say except I got busy, I've travelled more than 1000km just this week. Last week much the same. Its a good thing I'm unattached otherwise there would be some people feeling really neglected.

Anyway, so one of my big clients is with fnb and in an attempt to improve end of month cashflow I...

I've been with FNB for a while now, and they've always been super helpful and efficient. But hey, maybe I'm just lucky.

Nice to hear from you again! smile
silvereye:
Thanks, you had some interesting blogs smile

Saturday I spent fighting fires. Literally.

Yay! Success! What a busy day.

The car is fixed, replaced the solenoid of the starter (how the hell did a SCREW get into the starter in the first place) and a new battery. The french are fine automotive engineers, but tend to place the components in places that are very difficult to access. But problem solved!

Also the chat with my business unit manager...

There is a peace that comes from giving up. It is not something that I indulge myself in too much. But sitting by the side of the road, in a broken down car after a very frustrating month it is perhaps the appropriate response.

Soon enough the AA will be here and then I will have to start to care again. To start work, to...

Thanks, I just got home. Time to answer some e-mails and sleep to get ready to hit the road again (in my other car)

Glad it's all better now! smile
Yeah, Moses might even have a bit of a wildcat in him too. He's got this incredibly bushy tail that puffs up 4 times its original size when he's pissed off. biggrin

The terror of responsibility

My business used to be much bigger. At one point, 18 people relied on me to keep them going. it was a terrible burden. Especially as I have never been very good at business, or very inspired to become good. i had trouble getting people to work. I had trouble getting people to pay, just a heap of trouble every day....
