Feeling much better today thankfully.
The last few months have been pretty hectic and it was all starting to get on top of me. The relationship problems have been a nightmare recently and I was returning to the land of SG to find many of my friends had disappeared and I was out of SG Scotland (for being Silent, ironically!) The stress of work was really getting me down too, as I've been really active in going to conferences and writing papers but all the pressure (and lack of money from all the travelling) meant I was starting to freak out a little I think.
But that is all sorted now, and things seem to be getting much more settled. I'm currently moving flat to a really lovely new place too just outside the centre of Nottingham. It's a beautiful old building in a quiet leafy street (kinda like the quieter areas of Glasgow's West End) which I'll be sharing with one of my fellow PhD students. It was unfurnished but thankfully my Aunt has left loads of furniture which she no longer needs as she has moved to the US. So once this is all sorted, I should have a really cool place to live and can really focus on getting the PhD done.
Also, the Crohn's disease which was keeping me out of action for much of the start of the year (right up till March really) has thankfully now relaxed so no more damn ulcers to get in the way!
And last (but certainly not least) I have a new relationship on the horizon which looks to be working out really well. We spent a recent weekend at a conference sitting on the beach together, drinking wine and having a really lovely time (yep, that is what taxpayers money goes on!) so I'm really hoping this could work out.
So not nearly as stressed as I was before!
