It's officially Christmas at my house! On Friday, we did the tree and other assorted household holiday goodies. It's super fun. We also made cookies and cream ice cream. Why not?

End of term is close, and I like it. I'm finally getting somewhere on my editing, and on Thursday: vacation begins. We have glorious plans of laziness and fun for the weekend. Once vacation starts, we have plans to: clean our closets, bake, cook stuffed peppers, play lots of Wii, see some movies, sleep (and other bedroom activities), shop, and just generally hang out. We're also going to try and get some exercising done. Seriously, our (already piss-poor) regiment has really suffered, between me traveling, the holidays, and her being bogged down with finals.

And for real, I want to *read read read.* I've been kind of picking at Absolution Gap by Alastair Reynolds, but job stuff has sort of sucked at me nervously and kept me from it. So I want to buckle down with the book and a bag of Doritos and just drown it all out.

In other news, I applied for a couple more jobs this weekend, and ran across a couple more to send off for. That always helps me feel less nervous: each new job applied for is another chance to avoid unemployment! (Once I send those new ones out, that will be 98 jobs applied for by the way. In case you're keeping count at home...)

I also wanted to observe: is it just me, or have there been some damn great sets going up lately? Lavonne, Casino, Sash, and Rigel have all blown me away recently. And the new sets from Ciria and Satya also both look great, though I've not had a chance to dig in. Groovy.

Enjoy your week folks.

Sounds like fun times for the holidays. I have an ex and my husband has an ex so between the two of us there are eight thousand people to see. I'm not joking, either. My hubby is number 13 of 14 children.

I've got my holiday stuff up and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. By New Years Eve I'll be done with all the clutter though and ready to go back.

smile

Have a great week!

hm. I forget whether I've read Absolution Gap... somehow Reynolds' books all seem the same frown
Though, to be fair, I couldn't say that of Century Rain.
