Waiting to see if you got money that you're pretty sure you didn't get pretty much sucks.
But if this is the worst part of grad school, I can live with it. It's annoying though, because we had talked about taking a trip to NYC this summer. Since I've struck out on 9 out of 10 fellowship grants, that's looking less likely now.
I'll be good for next year, I think. I'm already teaching one class, and I've applied to do some other teaching work. It'll make getting my own work done harder, but such is life. Mostly, I just want to know this is done and buried.

Good luck to your wife in her studies, though.
More on topic, though, one of the biggest things I miss about school was teaching. I don't get anywhere near the joy out of anything in my life right now as I did from teaching. Good luck with the grants and teaching stipends, though.
So yeah, I'm moving to Cambridge for my (real) postdoc. I don't really count the last year, it's been all just tying up loose ends.
How have you been? Any closer to that elusive light at the end of the tunnel? And when are you coming to NYC? I'll be in town until the first week in July, would be great to get a drink or something if you're going to be around.
