My idea of funny:

Stick 20 linguists in a room that they can't get out of and then ask one of them very loudly, so that the others hear, what s/he thinks 'meaning' is.

Then leave the room and lock the door.

So I'm working on a super mario brothers stand up skit...I have a little over a page right now and everyone whose heard it has cracked up.

How long (in minutes) should an amatuer standup skit be?

Read about your ear infection thing in Smuffy's Journal. As someone who uses a phone for a living, pretty
much 8 hours a day, I can tell you that yes, they will usually
go away, but it can take like 2 weeks or more, and there is
always the added possibility of hearing damage. Better to
see a doc and get some meds for it. It'll go away SO
much sooner.

yup, I read it several times through when I was a child. I just started reading Gene Wolfe - The Book of the New Sun (tetrology) (I had started reading it about 7 or 8 years ago, but only read a little bit). Its great, highly recomended.
