I was doing some research this morning, because I was curious. It's turns out that MN has voted for a Democratic presidential candidate in every election since 1932 except for Eisenhower in 1952 and 1956 and Nixon in 1972.
We voted for Mondale. The only state to do so (DC also voted for him). Isn't it great?
Prior to that we tended to vote Republican, which I attribute to political realignment. Remember our history? Republicans weren't always evil. (Not, of course, that the Democrats of today are evil-free, either).
I have no idea why I wrote about all that, really.
I had the UPS thing yesterday. I'm supposed to have an interview on Monday, but I'm considering cancelling it. I don't think I can fall that low. There must be a better job out there for me somewhere. I just have to find it!
Getting all my jewelry back in yesterday was a mild annoyance. I don't take my earrings out often, and I'd never taken the barbell out of my eyebrow. Doing so violates my first rule of piercings: once it's healed, don't fuck with it. Don't take it out and put it back in all the time. Don't play with it. These things can only cause problems.
The whole thing took about 45 minutes. My earrings are hoops with hinges on them. They're all slightly bent, so getting them connected while in the ear can be a problem. They're much easier than full hoops, though. I should really just get some captive ball rings or something. I don't feel like spending that much money at the moment, though.
I saw War of the Worlds last night. I didn't think it was too bad. I could have done with more sci-fi and less Tom Cruise, but overall it was an all right movie. Suspenseful and all.
Afterwards there was going out for a drink or four. It was two-for-ones.
Amazingly I didn't break my personal rule against DWI - dialing while intoxicated. I really wanted to call MathGirl, because I miss her so, but I avoided this temptation. I'm sure she doesn't need a maudlin drunk calling her at midnight. And I do get so maudlin sometimes. It's embarassing.
That's about it for now. Have a good day everyone!

UPS isn't low! I used to have fantasies about working for UPS. I think it would be fun. And it would be something, and something is better than nothing. You could always find something better later.
