We had absolutely beautiful weather here this weekend. Sunny, 80 degrees. Saturday we went to the lake. Had some brews and caught some rays, as young people might say.
Of course, my expensive education was not able to prevent stupidity. I went in the water with half a pack of cigarettes in my pocket. Absolutely brilliant!
Yesterday Papa Joe and I went to the car show. Tony and Luke had to work. But it was fun. I've got some pictures.
Here we have a 5-window coupe. I think it's an early 30's Ford, but it's hard to tell; the rain gutters are strange. Nice engine and paint, though.
This is some precious metal: a 1962 VW Cabriolet. Pretty rare stuff now; I'd like to have one.
This is a real duesey. That is, a Duesenberg. I don't think it was a replica. If I had a million dollars...
Easily the most expensive car at the show, except for another Duesey that we saw.
You all know how I feel about Porsche, and if I were a wealthy man I would have bought this 1957 550 Spyder on the spot. Pretty sure it was original; it was in gorgeous condition, but just a little too worn to be a replica.
A Chevy pickup truck. I loved the paint.
We're pretty sure there are only two steel-bodied 1936 Fiat Topolinos in the state of Minnesota. This is one of them.
You saw the other last weekend in my Saturday journal: Papa Joe owns it. I think ours is going to be better. The one above has a pretty wimpy engine. What's the point?
Well, after the beautiful weekend it's raining again now. Typical.
Much love!
