My my, at Waterloo Napoleon did surrender.
Oh yeah, and I have met my destiny in quite a similar way.
The History book on the shelf
Is always repeating itself.
Thank you, ABBA, for reminding us that on this day in 1815 Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, defeated Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo. This basically ended Napoleon's political career.
I still don't think Wellington was as cool as the Duke of Marlborough, though. (That is, John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough). Yes, Winston Churchill was his descendant, and wrote a biography of him which is reportedly a historical and literary masterpiece. I need to read it.
I must also read A History of the English-Speaking Peoples.
I'm afraid I have no automobile pictures to post today. I know how disappointed you all must be. But I've decided to wait until after I attend the big hot rod show, which will be either today or tomorrow.
Luckily the weather has decided to turn nice for once.
