I guess I must be dumb,
She had a pocket full of horses -
Trojan, and some of 'em used.
But it was Saturday night,
I guess that makes it all right.
And you say what have I got to lose.
"Little Red Corvette" is a song about a car, right? Really, what a delightfully scandalous song. But what sort of girl keeps used condoms in her pocket? Seriously?
Last week I drove past First Avenue, the club featured in Purple Rain. I realized I haven't been there in ages. The Violent Femmes are going to be playing there July 5, but I probably won't be able to go. No one to go with me.
No, I've never driven past Paisley Park.
Not much to say for myself today. It's raining. Again. I now consider this normal, as it's rained almost every day for a month or two. There are now various fungi growing out of control in my yard.
One produces giant, white mushroom-like structures. Knowing something of the biology of these organisms, I know that most of the fungus is underground, and that these mushrooms likely all belong to the same one.
Since the above-ground parts are about 20 feet apart, I have one large fungus growing in my lawn. I wonder how I'm going to get rid of it?
I have no idea why I wrote about all of that, as if you care about some mushroom growing in my yard. I guess it's the scientist in me.
Anyway, it's kind of a slow morning, so I look forward to hearing from you, my dear readers.
Much love to you!
Breaking News:
I was just outside and caught a baby rabbit on the front step eating my mother's plants. How it got up there I can't guess, since from the flashing glimpse I caught it looked pretty small. Cheeky bugger! But I felt bad for it, because I'm sure I scared the hell out of it when I opened the door. Maybe I'm too soft-hearted?

the Peach Blossom festival was this poetry reading competition. how you can you compete in poetry reading? i don't know! i was an odyssey of the mind geek. but those poetry readers were serious about their shite. re-directed energy i suppose.
goodness, i can't wait till lunch. i will try to stay away from the fungi. that is one GIANT fungi in your yard. massive! maybe it's wide and flat? like a piece of particle board or something?
i don't think any kind of girl carries used condoms in her pockets. i think it was just that a female carrying condoms period, is scandalous to most people. so naughty that they might as well be used! hyperbole. i hope!
