I saw Revenge of the Sith yesterday, of course. I thought it was great. But I'm a nerd, so my opinion on Star Wars is questionable.
No, but really, it is pretty good. Ok, I think spectacular, but I've been waiting for it my entire life. Definately a tear-jerker, even though you know what's going to happen. Heartbreaking, even.
I see that it had leaked to the internet already yesterday - I went to the theater anyway. Why would I want to watch a movie such as Star Wars on the tiny screen of my computer?
I swear, some people just don't understand the whole film experience. They don't get that the giant screen, the sound, the lighting, everything at the theater - they all matter.
I saw one comment somewhere about a guy who wouldn't go to the theater because he couldn't pause the movie!
Pause the fucking movie?? That's blasphemy. It ruins the whole illusion of immersion. I don't even pause movies at home - I watch them straight through from beginning to end.
It pisses me off, because I take movie watching seriously, and some people are so frivolous. Really, where else can you have such a great time for $5 (for a matinee, no soda, etc.)
All right, my ranting is done now.
