This post is going to be about baby names, so if you are not enticed to read on I thought I would post the one thing that really amuses me in this post:
Haha, there are so many songs with my name, it makes me happy.
Ok, so I'm not even about to have a baby... but I've just had four people tell me that the name Zipporah is too "out there" or a "hippy name".
What the hell? It's from the Bible. It's the wife of Moses, everybody friggin' knows Moses, the guy that led God's people out of Egypt? They made a movie about it. Rob told me no five year old would know who Zipporah was and they'd make fun of her, but she's in the movie The Prince of Egypt. At least I left out the T, I think silent Ts are what would make a kid make fun of a Tzipporah.
Then again, the people I've asked have been named Robert, Stephen, Joshua and Brandon.
I know I got it from my mom, I just hate common names. I mean, I don't want to go name my kid Ketchup or Bongo or anything. La Quinta isn't on my list. But I have friends with names like Jemma, Kortini, Alice, Joanna... and those are at least unique if not totally out there.
I do have a soft spot for Molly, which my mother informed me last night was on her list of baby names. I seriously am going to turn into her. Rob likes Molly, but I found out it's related to Marie which kinda killed the name for me a bit... haha. Marie is so common, I know five girls with that as the middle name.
Rob's sister is naming her girl Lyla Marie, which is growing on me but still not my favorite... but I looked up the name meaning and it's basically "Black sea of bitterness," Depressing much? Not to mention, her mother's middle name is Marie... who the hell gives their child the same damn middle name, unless they're a third or whatever? Talk about lazy.
Although I did like the name Zoie Tyler, even though Rob's middle name is Tyler... so I'm trying to find a new middle name :/ I still have a number of years, I just like thinking about it. That, or I told him since Robert is a family name it'd be Zoie Tyler and Robert Elizabeth, lol.
I really want a Vader Quincy like my great great grandfather, but Rob won't let me name our son that if we have one... mostly 'cause Quincy sounds horrible with Rob's last name. But Vader is fucking awesome, and it's a family name. How many people can honestly say that when trying to name a kid Vader? If anybody tries to say something I'll show them a photo of the tombstone.
I looked through an entire baby name website last night, at least the boy names, and I didn't come up with hardly any... it was depressing. Just for fun, here is what I did get:

I used to have a ton of girl names, but I've wiped most of them out... so now it's very limited:
