Thanksgiving has come and gone and the only thing I can hope for is that we have a huge snow storm that will keep me from traveling back home. I think its in the movie "Garden State" where they talk about when coming back home doesn't feel like home. That's the feeling I get now during the times I do go back home to visit.
My sister and I are planning a trip to Saratoga Springs, NY in November. She used to live up there and I would spend my summers living with her. I'm especially excited about this trip, especially since one of her friends there owns a jazz club that specializes in martinis (they have over 200 different kinds). I just wanted everyone to know that I won a trophy. My first since high school. I won the trophy for playing horseshoes at my family reunion. Every family reunion should have trophies.

I'm moving into a nice place. Moving in with my soon to be wife. Very exciting. Trophies rock until I have to find a place to put them.

So I'm back from camping, which actually turned out to be fun. I'm not much of an outdoors person, so I was pretty proud of myself for sleeping in a tent.
I hate coming back to work after a vacation (no matter how short or long). It always seems to be the time you get slammed with work.

I spent the evening (from 5pm on) outside today. I had to devote the morning and afternoon to some much needed apartment cleaning, but I was able to go out for sushi and shopping/walking around Uptown afterwards. Then it was over to the Monte Carlo to sit on their patio drinking martinis. Two days of beautiful Minnesota weather, can it get much better than this?

My brush with the flu is finally over. Plus I got to spend some quality time with the family, especially my dad. We went to the stock car races and out on the river with the fishing boat (I've got the sun/wind burn to prove it). This is what a normal summer weekend for people in Iowa. I kind of missed it.
I'm suffering from the flu bug. Perfect timing since I wasn't sick all winter.

I'm already awake because I had to take 6 excedrine today (bad day at work and a little too much indulgence the night before), but at this moment the apartment building next to mine is on fire.
My deepest sympathies to anyone that lives there. I can't even begin to imagine what they must be going through right now.
