I love children. Their the only human beings I understand. Because kids don't want anything from you. At least nothing that you can't give them. All they want is a hand to get stuff from high places, a suspect to apprehend when they play hide-and-go-seek, and a linguist to interpret their baby gibberish (which I'm surprisingly good at I might add). I was just thinking of that as I opened the door to a rush of small nieces and cousins coming into the house just now. I love being an uncle and a bigger cousin to the smaller kids coming up behind me. I didn't have any younger siblings or brothers so I try to be there for them the way no one was for me. I want to be the fun uncle for them. The one they can hang out with when their parents are being a pain. The one they can trust with their secrets and problems. So yea, I just thought I'd share that. Now I gotta go put Spider-Man on for my four year old partner in crime. Oh yea, and Six Flags with the niece this weekend. Can't wait to scare the shit out of her as I shake the coaster on the way down. Yea, I'm one of those people, lol.
