That sux. When any of my friends blows off a meet, the occasion always arises when I get to 'return the favor', so to speak. Once we're both even, things are back to normal. I'm sure there are other ways to put out the message that you won't put up with any more of that crap besides becoming a "bitch" cuz surely that wouldn't be good no?
