Sometimes i will read something that Dorwayin wrote.....
and a little piece of me falls in love with him all over again. love
But its not just his way with words, and we all know words can be a powerful tool.

He also makes desserts that rate a ten on the drool factor scale. The kind of culinary masterpieces that make men and women fall to...

I have to go in to work today.
I do believe there should be a 24 hr grace period of sorts after a holiday.
A recovery/detox period if you will.
No one should have to go to work the day after any holiday.
I for one, am still polluted, my body still trying to digest the heavy amount of food and alcohol in my system...

Observation

If i don't drive around the park,
I'm pretty sure to make my mark.
If i'm in bed each night by ten,
I may get back my looks again.
If I abstain from fun and such,
I'll probably amount to much;
But I shall stay the way I am,
Because I do not give a damn.

Today, i'm not dwelling on death...

A big heartfelt thanks to all of you who left comments, thoughts, and condolences regarding Carl.
His wake is tomorrow, the funeral Monday morning.

On a brighter note, one of the veterinarians i work with, got a new puppy this week.
Needless to say, we all were thrilled with our new playmate, a twelve week old Retriever puppy named "Spencer"
Puppy breath and soft downy...

Oh man, The Children's Hour broke my poor little heart.

And sweet dreams!
misterdoom:
I forgot about the wake... Again.. my condolences. You've lost other friends or family recently?

Chaos... part of life, to some degree. Sometimes it's even the good kind. I don't know if I'd want a life of complete quiet and serenity. I don't mind being kept on my toes...

As for the going out late... I think 3 days was my limit... I got lots of sleep yesterday and last night to catch up. Us SG geezers need our sleep eventually.... tongue

Today i was told by my mother that my younger brothers best friend "Carl" had been murdered last night.
I have known Carl since he was probably about thirteen or so.
He was a kind person with a good heart, and a very loyal friend to my brother.
He leaves behind a 2yr old son with his longtime girlfriend "Jen".
I knew him for many...

Well, hey, the same thing happened to Cindy Brady! And, unlike Cindy, I'm pretty certain that you weren't being obnoxious and braggadocious (sp?) before the show started. I completely understand why such a situation would be so anxiety-provoking. In a one-on-one meeting with a manager today, I completely blanked out on what I was going to say. Imagine what I would have done if my audience were a bit larger!

I should go back and read each and every journal entry you've made. smile

I'd say you're welcome, but, really, it is my pleasure, Shel. Sleep well and say hello to the best damn pastry chef in the Bay State, too! smile

For the young who want to By Marge Piercy

Talent is what they say
you have after the novel
is published and favorably
reviewed. Beforehand what
you have is a tedious
delusion, a hobby like knitting

Work is what you have done
after the play is produced
and the audience claps.
Before that friends keep asking
when you are planning to go
out and get...

Thanks to everyone for sharing their favorite comedies with me and for the well wishes also.
I am on the road to recovery, but sadly enough, my better half is now stricken down with this dreaded illness.
I returned to work yesterday after a week long absence, to discover that pretty much half the clinic had contracted this virus thing.
Management was none to happy...

I am still sick....

To cheer me up, please feel free to leave me with your list of five favorite comedy films of your choice....

Thank you!

i've just read through everyones suggestions and now there are so many movies that i wanna watch too!
jacksalt:
Yeah, it is a good movie. i hadn't seen the whole thing, only snippets, before. And DiCaprio is good. I wonder what happened to him? verything else I have seen him in he sucks, and I will now go out of my way to avoid a movie with him in it.

And yeah, I do most of the cooking too. I am an ex-chef, and I still like cooking rarely find the time for something decent though.

Catherine O' Hara is great, but I didn't get much from her (or even Eugene Levy, who I love) in SCTV. The two of them are awesome in "A Mighty Wind".

You must have a pretty good guy there- I seem to recall seeing something about all the B&B being gone, and he was on his way to get more. What a guy!!

I visited Denver once before (in 2001 or 2002) and I'm thinking that I might end up going again in the future as my brother and his fiance will likely be moving there in 2006 (they're currently in NYC). Her family lives in Denver and they seem to have decided that that's where they want to be in the long-term.

Sorry to lack my usual zest of conversation. I think that I want to go to bed soon. The sooner this day ends, the better. frown

Hope that you feel better! Hopefully, talk with you tomorrow...
