Sometimes i will read something that Dorwayin wrote.....
and a little piece of me falls in love with him all over again.
But its not just his way with words, and we all know words can be a powerful tool.
He also makes desserts that rate a ten on the drool factor scale. The kind of culinary masterpieces that make men and women fall to their knees, and praise the gods of divine sweets and magic ingredients.
Think i'm kidding? All you got to do....is take one taste.
Go ahead.................i dare you
Last night i actually got my ass off the chair, stepped away from the computer and went into boston with a friend to see the film "Capote".
Philip Seymour Hoffman is amazing!!
everything from the voice, to the mannerisms.
He nailed this role, and come oscar time, he at least better get a nomination.
In all honesty, the only book i ever read by Truman Capote was "In Cold Blood". I read it in high school, as i was always a fan of true crime novels.
I never read "Breakfast at Tiffanys", but i saw the movie numerous times. Does that count?
This movie pointed out the fact that after finishing "In Cold Blood", Capote never published another book again.
And if you get a chance to see the film, it will make you understand why.
Shelly gives this film Two Big Thumbs Up!!
I walked out of the theater, with an urgent need for a smoke and a cocktail, and i blame the literary crowd of the 1950's, with their gin and tonics, cigarettes in one hand, and their gift for telling wonderful whimsical stories.
I never claimed to be a very good writer myself.
But i admire those past and present who can write, and i am a good listener.
That alone would have gotten me an invite to the party
