A couple of films you may want to check out
and noticed i said "May" as my taste in films are not everyones cup of tea....what an antique little saying that is biggrin

1. "Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains"
worth a peek...some cameo appearances by members of "The Clash" and Fee Waybill ( from The Tubes eeek )
but the main reason to see:
A young nubile Diane Lane, sporting a punk rock doo, and a see through top, yelling on stage before her band plays
"We're the Stains.......and we don't put out" Classic

2."Female Trouble" for you newer fans of John Waters films,
this is the infamous flick that has "Divine" playing Dawn Davenport, throwing a major hissyfit and ruining Her familys christmas, and all because she didn't get those damn Cha-cha heels
some things are worth knocking over the christmas tree tongue

3.White Dog, if you've never heard of this 1982 movie directed by Sam Fuller, i wouldn't be surprised. It never got a theatrical release due to its controversial subject matter.
Kristy McNichol ( yes, that Kristy McNichol) hits a white german shepard with her truck and nurses him back to health,
only to discover that he has been trained to attack and even kill.....well...people with dark skin..So with the help of a black dog trainer (played by Paul Winfield) they try to deprogram the dog before having to make the decision of euthanizing him. A sad little film about how racism is taught, even to other creatures besides those who are not human, and definately not a feel good film. Still worth a look

4. "Life is sweet" one of my favorite films by Mike Leigh, and not nearly as dark as "naked" (which slightly traumatized me by the way) A touching and quirky fable centering on a working class family in england, their bizarre family unit, and some rather funny trials and tribulations. Wonderful performances by all, and a rather gross chocolate sex scene, which makes you realize that sometimes food should be left out of the bedroom.

More at a later date perhaps
feel free to leave me some recommendations as well
Consider me a student of life
and of film smile
one can never learn enough......or can they?

Yeah, the store is cool. And they are really nice people.
The puddings are sausages. I don't know if you have ever had Goetta- it's aGerman sausage made with pork, pork lard, and oatmeal. Sounds tasty, eh?
It actually is pretty good, in small doses. My wife won't come near the stuff. Says it scares her.
White pudding is the Irish version of Goetta.
Black puddding is indeed a blood sausage. I've never had the guts to try it.

And the coat is for Christmas- I'm having a hard time waiting!!

My dependency upon modern conveniences is utter and complete. I'm without computer access at work and at home yesterday and my world doesn't feel quite right. biggrin

Nah, you're not on here "too much" at all...at least as far as my self-centered interests are concerned! smile
