What can i say...
i got tired of looking at my ass

Hhmmm....

I was thinking about tear jerkers this morning, the kind of films you know are going to pull on those ol heartstrings, and yet....
You just have to watch them
fully knowing that the waterworks will come, the hankies will come out..... and that you will be sniffling for about an hour...

As stereotypical as it is, "Romeo and Juliet". I don't cry, but it definately depresses me. I've felt what they felt and to lose it over something so stupid is something I can relate to.

And hell yeah I'm lovin' SG! I just wish I could be more active on this motherfucker! I wanna benefit you all, so I'm gonna try to photograph some of my soon-to-be-SG-friends!
sonofapunk:
I'm talking about the Baz Luhrmann version, highly stylized, modern day, etc.

I can relate to it more. And to top it all off it's so badass, and funny, and sad, and entertaining overall.

biggrin

I'm up, after only three hours of sleep, just bothering people on comments. Why is it that sandman hates me? bah.
darke:
oh, she'll get around to it at some point, but she's going to Madison, Wisconsin this weekend to test for a job.

So........

IN YOUR OPINION

and yes, i'm disqualifying myself from these questions because sadly enough.....Shelly did not get her ass to the movie theater much this past year.

1) What film did you see this year that simply did not live up to the hype?

2) Best horror movie of the year?

3) A film you viewed, that upon leaving the theater....you thought to yourself...."i...

I can't be sure when the items will be sent, but I'd prefer to do it sooner rather than later. After all, they're yours! biggrin

Sarah the pitbull was in the store a few steps away from the vegan restaurant in PS. She was skittish from having had to deal with abusive jerks in her past, but she was a sweet pup.

Well, for whatever it's worth, I know that those photos would be terrific. I speak for many in expressing enthusiasm for the day when they'll be posted! D's still loving the new camera, I presume. smile
surlymike:
Dare I say that all those posting on the 6 pages of comments you have would like to see these pictures! The camera likes you, Shel, because you don't take pictures like this:

Well.......I've been tagged by Wendy...
so here it goes...

1. As *nsync would say, God must have spent a little more time on you. What, exactly, did God spend more time on?
Not sure, all i can say is that it definately wasn't me..

2. If you had to start your own war against something, what would it be and why? Also, what would...

Well, since you ask- it's number 3 in question 15 that is untrue.
The other stuff is not as exciting as it sounds!!

To all my friends here on SG ...

Have a happy new years!

I'm hoping 2006 has a lot less heartbreak up her sleeve, and maybe, she'll be a bit kinder than the year before her.

So whatever your plans, be safe, have fun......and soon i'll make a comeback with an entry dedicated to film once again.

But for now, i'll just leave you with...

And a happy new year to you and your, Shel! 2006 has started well (a weekend and a paid holiday will do that)...and, yes, Mary's new set is reason for celebration, as usual. love

How have you been??
eddiedrood:
Heya,

Paragraph 3 can be summarized as: "wow, you guys actually did stuff for New Years, and it sounded fun and awash in adult beverages." That's it. It just didn't seem as fun to say it that way. All the journal entry stuff was just a nod to how you and dorwayin refer to SG X, who talked about a party and referred to SG Y, who talked about the party and referred to...and so on.

I hope work goes well for ya, and have a great Thursday!

I may be a scrooge....
but i still like the whole "Gift" thing!

I seem to turn into a child once again when given a present.

Everyone go congratulate Vauxhall, who is a brand new spanking uncle! smile

I thank everyone for the happy holiday wishes, my weekend was chock full of good memories, which of course included much delicious eats, fine wine and other...

I have had company for most of the day.
I'm trying to be an attentive host!
I think i'm doing pretty good so far.....

not hard to do, considering the fact that she is beautiful, intelligent, and wonderful company.

And we are all pretty drunk biggrin
Talk to you all soon...

I just haven't watched many of her films yet. There are odd holes in my movie viewing life...

I still have a bunch of audio tapes I will never listen to. Hard to let the past go sometimes. wink

My parents live in town, so we'll be spending it with them, my brother, and my cousin (the only of our extended family that lives out West). What about you two?

And good luck with the shopping. We're doing the easy stocking shopping tonight.

No, I never saw it. I totally love Shane McGowan. He's a bit of a tragic figure though. I'm afraid he's turning into just an old Irish drunk. makes me a bit sad.

Today at the hospital, the doctors worked on a 12 wk old puppy that had ingested a small bag of heroin eeek

The puppy is doing fine at the moment.
Surprise, Surprise.....the owner resides in my lovely city of Brockton.

Nosey's ok!!
She is going with her Dad, who likes to occasionally take her on trips. Him and Mom divorced for 20 something years, it is his way of getting quality time. And I just plain wasn't invited.
I guess I could have bought a ticket and gone with, but it is not the trip that she and I would have together- he is going to want to do things with her that she and I would never dream of doing (like theatre- he is a theatre maniac- relates to the world, literally, in theatre language) so we will go together another tme. I'm still jealous.

And I'm with you on this seeing ourselves through ther people. I really don't have any idea how much is due to age- while I lament the lack of a socal scene, if I'm honest, most times I'd raher not be social. Can't have it both ways, now can I?
Internally, i still feel 26- but I catch mself with attitudes and saying things I would NEVER have at 26. And again, without external feedback, who knows which is the real one?

And I am indeed most fortunate in my wife. She is my one true best friend in the whole world.
semjaza:
Where in the City did you live? I grew up in Stamford and spent a ton of time in and around the Village. I miss those days, I dig Boston, but it isn't quite the same.

I am off to work, thank you all for your words of kindness regarding my last whiny journal entry.
Not feeling up to par tends to make me slightly grumpy....i am sure most of you can relate.

Because i enjoyed reading your answers in my last "In your opinion" questionaire......I thought, why not do it again?
Hope you don't mind?

Yeah Babe was funny, basically if there is a talking animal in it Im seeing it.

Darke loves the movies I make him see...really.

Ill probably bawl my eyes out when The Last Unicorn finally comes out, the wait is killing me. They need to update their site.

You can always be a cheater and save a couple of snowballs in the fridge for when Dorwayin comes home, get him when he has no ammo. biggrin
almalthia:
Deviant, who me? wink

Come on, who wouldn't like to be pelted with a snowball in the middle of the living room?

The best snowball fight Darke and I ever had was inside his car. The car had a buildup of snow on the roof so I decided to roll down the window and throw it at him. After the first snowball, it escalated into a battle royal while driving down the road. I highly recommend it.
