My favorite sitcom of all time is Superstore; unlike others which came out in a different time (Scrubs & How I Met Your Mother) it has still aged well. And this morning I realized why.
Yes, it's funny and yes it's an amazing love story. But the reason it resonates with me so much is the character of Amy Sosa (America Ferrera).
Jonah doesn't necessarily undergo a lot of growth but he doesn't really need it. Amy is the one who thinks that the life she has is the life she will always has, that there are no dreams for her, that life won't get "better".
Jonah is so hopeful, so positive, that she can't help but slowly allow herself to dream, to try to be more than she is, to finally admit she deserves to be happy. And it's because of Jonah and his outlook and love for her that her life changes for the better. And that's beautiful
