So, I actually had the desire to write again, and I've been giving it a go. Nothing serious, just like 500 words so far, and I already hate parts of it...which is a good thing, believe it or not. From what I've learned thru working on my own craft and watching other creative people over the years, an important step in creating something is hating it at first, or at least parts of it. Because, if you hate it, that means you're not satisfied with it, and therefore you keep working on it until it gets better. Imagine if when carving the statue of the Thinker, they'd just stopped when they got a rough outline and called it "good enough". Hating your art is just a part of the process.
The problem lies when you CAN'T stop working on it, fine tuning it, editing it, etc... That's when you run into issues, because nothing we ever do will be "perfect" (since we're mortal beings, perfection is beyond our reach but should still be something to strive towards) so if you never finish your product, you never release it out into the world for other to critique and/or enjoy.
And, if you have no desire to ever try and make a living off of your art, who gives a fuck if it's "good enough"? If it makes you happy, then do it; making art just because is one of the great joys of being alive. So don't worry about if others see/hear it or get it, just be happy doing your art.
