It's not healthy to constantly dwell in the future. Sure, we all daydream about how we'd like things to turn out (and some of us torture ourselves by imagining things that don't come true but our insecurities sure make it feel like it could happen), and there's nothing wrong with having goals and working towards them. But, if you constantly imagine what might be, you miss out on what's happening NOW.
It's not good to try and live in the past. Sure, we've all made mistakes: things we wish we had said or hadn't said, choices we regret making or not making. But, barring the intervention of magic none of us can go back to those moments that we regret; that version of us is dead and gone, never to return. If you constantly beat yourself up over things in the past, you ruin the present and may alter your future, and not in a good way usually.
We all need to try and live more in the moment, this moment, this place and time. Right now, this is all we have control over, so make the most of it and just live in the present. It's a gift, one that's not guaranteed for tomorrow. So, cherish it and use it wisely.
