In the twenty-one years of life Ive been so far allotted on this spacious green pasture of earth, I have thus far crashed and destroyed two automobiles, one Nissan 240sx and one Honda Civic, both stick shifts and both not completely belonging to me. No one was killed. Although one poor young black man from East Orange suffered a compound fracture of the lower leg. I am very sorry for that. In twenty-one years I have only broken the ring finger of my left hand, which with no medical attention healed quite well after a period of tolerable pain. In fact it may not have been broken at all. I cant imagine what it must feel like for a bone to snap in half. With luck, I will not know that pain. I find paper cuts to be a good measure of my threshold for physical suffering. Anything more might make me uneasy.
