Okay... after doing a little bit of a panic in my last blog I came to the realisation that I can save the stone by shrinking the stone down and putting the stone in a smaller mount.

So... after re-seizing the stone and re-shaping, It is fixed!




here it is! I still have the stone on the dopstick (that is the thing in my hand) if you are wondering what the red stuff is... well, that is wax. it is kind of like the wax you use for the old wax seals on parchment but different by all accounts. The only downside that I can think of is the stone has lost a little of the dome hight for the stone to be rescued, but, besides that, it has turned out fine.

sorry if the stone looks a little blurry, the stone is kind of translucent, so, it makes it difficult to photo, but it lets you know what range of colours (or "colors") that are in the stone. I am quite pleased with the results so far. all that needs to be done now is to put a polish on the girdle (Girdle = the circumference of the stone) and base then mount it then it is done.

Oh and while I remember, a big thanks to Sweetheart. In saying "No, save it" made me realise that
I could save the stone, without going though the whole process all over again.
