I'm getting glasses. Reading glasses, to be specific. I spend eight or nine hours each day in front of this computer, then I go home and write (usually longhand, but sometimes transcribing longhand into electronic) and whatever time isn't spent in those two activities usually goes into reading.
So, my eyes get very tired, and it turns out that they're focusing at different distances, so now I need reading glasses. Considering the amount of time I'm doing reading-level activities, it would probably just be more accurate to call them everything-but-driving-and-fucking glasses. And actually, I look better in the glasses, so I might as well go ahead and fuck in them, too.

Its cool that you met Mr Mieville...I met Matt Stover at a signing he did...I loved his NJO book and I've read a couple of other things he wrote which I liked. It was actually in an interview he did where he said that China Mieville was one of the best scifi authors right niw that moved me to buy Perdido Street...
Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading your work, considering the great infuences you have...
