Job Description
DC Comics, an AOL Time Warner company, seeks a Game Producer for the Multimedia Publishing department in New York.
Position works with third party licensees to formulate and execute multimedia games utilizing DC Comics properties. Develops, establishes and implements production policies and guidelines for licensees. Reviews technical and game design documents and assesses game feasibility. Develops and maintains budgets. Oversees game elements such as script writing, talent voice over recording, motion capture, etc. Functions as point person for marketing, publicity and distribution. Performs other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required. Computer design/production training required. Experience in game design and development required. Ability to disseminate technical design documents required. Proficiency in basic desktop software for both PC and MAC required. Strong project management and organizational skills required. Understanding of traditional story structure required. Familiarity with CD ROM, gaming, or computer software production required. Familiarity with traditional and CGI animation required. Ability to conceptualize viable creative ideas and provide creative direction to freelancers required. Ability to creatively work through problems, especially programming and design challenges, required. Copyediting and proofreading skills required. Ability to effectively route products through approval and production stage required. Ability to meet strict deadlines required. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing required. Understanding of trademark law strongly preferred. Understanding of retail software marketing strongly preferred. Understanding of DC Comics comic book characters preferred. Minimum 5-7 years in the interactive gaming industry required. Previous experience as a game producer, designer, writer, or supervisor required. Previous experience with product management/development required. Supervisory experience preferred.
