Here is the deal:
I will be coming back out to Seattle for the weekend next. This is for a third interview with Mario, and I'm hoping that if things go well, it will lead to an offer.
So, job aside, if anyone on The Attle side knows of anything fun going on next weekend, let me know. I will most likely have a hotel room - maybe even a suite or something. If that turns out, maybe I will have a wee party? Is the burning happening on Friday night?
Saw "The Hulk" on Friday. I thought it was OK. Really uneven in pacing and Lee should have tightened up the exposition, as the pace stopped dead a few times when it shouldn't have. The transition effects - the comic bookish splitting up of panels and that sort of thing didn't work for me at all. Way too distracting and unnecessary. I'm not sure that Nick Nolte needed to turn into a super-villain himself - I think it would have reinforced the monstrosity of his character even more if he had remained strictly human throughout the movie. The action sequences, however, were great. You need to know the comic book Hulk a bit to be able to accept these. If you are coming off just the TV show, a lot of the action stuff may seem completely over the top and way too unrealistic ("The Hulk doesn't fly!!!"/"He's not flying he's jumping, ahhh never mind..."). Taken, as they are a movie's interpretation of the comic book Hulk - it works pretty well and is fun to watch. The sequence that illustrates this best is the escape from the army base through the desert to San Fran. Great set piece.
