So L.A. has been okay so far... I am staying at a huge house on Mount Washington, all old Spanish construction in just about the windiest mountain road ever. The place has a huge deck and adjoining studio and is all lush with a great view. I'm told that there are even a few coyotes around. I told my buddy if he needs a houseboy I might stay on and do the Cato Cailyn thing for awhile, maybe buying a few guns I could use to scare the critters and trespassers off with
This E3 thing is freaking exhausting. This year more so because even though Im not working, I can make full use of the bars during the day. I staggered around the floor today a bit and ran into dozens of people. The people I like and can stand to talk to are numerous, though i only saw one SG member - WhippedCream really briefly.
What games did I see? Well ... the Sony booth for one and was really psyched to see Castlevania on the PS2. The Prince of Persia game for PS2 looked good, but maybe better than I think because it was demo'ed by a French artist girl who just about the cutest thing that day. I just loved the way she explained triple pass rendering in ze French accent. :swoon:
(I have a major problem with French accents in women. they just totally make me go dumb. I can't explain it. no freedom jokes please, that is so last month)
what else? Arrrgh, Doom 3 sealed away in a heavily fortified room, accessible only by a line of yoyos to rival opening night event movie squatters... theres a lot of cool MMORPG stuff, but who will have the time for Galaxies, EQ2, City of Heroes and Worlds of Warcraft, huh? HUH?? I want a life! I mean a *real* one!
After the show it was off to a Dodger game, for the maybe first night of a new tradition of E3 ball games. I dont do ball games usually but with a bunch of guys like i was out with it was pretty fun. Done loud and with personality. Oh, and lots of Bud that i drank through a straw. Is that wrong?
Capped with apps at Toi. And lychee nuts - my favorite fruit. I still like thinking that they are eyeballs and even tried to put one on my friend's shoulder like Leon from Blade Runner. "I make eyes - just eyes!"
