Dude, I am also living in Brooklyn and getting ready to leave very soon. I know what you mean about identifying with a job- my main thing I want to do right now is make music, but I have found that I'm often really unmotivated to do that if I'm not gainfully employed, "self-sufficient," able to "support myself". Which is kind of completely irrational, eh? Especially when freelancing and perpetual job interviews means not dyeing my hair, etc.

i was just getting back to you. how i love brooklyn!!! i wish i could live there. as for studing kabbalah check out rabbi max's site www.kabbalahclub.com. i also recomend reading 72 names of god that just came out a couple of months ago as well as the way. also check out kabbalah.com this is the kabbalah centre's site. this rabbi has really over commerialized the wizdom of kabbalah. i think the centre pushes people to buy thier over priced stuff. if you want further study i suggest taking a look at rabbi max's site. let me know if i can help. kabbalah has changed me for the better!!! good luck.
