I'm restless, I'm tired, I desperately need to sleep.....yet can't. I wake up at 4am to open the store at 5, for all you damn caffeine maniacs that so desperately need me to supply your morning drugs.
I keep crawling back into bed in dire hopes that this time I will slip into a heavenly deep sleep. Instead I toss and turn staring at the small fan in my window, listening to it buzz, barely feeling the breeze cept when another hot flash envelopes my body and face, and I break into sweat.
I'm not thinking of anything else, for my mind cannot focus, I want nothing more than to tune out the loud laughters and barking dogs outside my window, down the street, down Capital Hill. I hear it all.
Are you awake with me? Do you wander your home in search of something, anything, some sort of satisfaction if it not be sleep? Am I alone, the night is still young.....
