was the night before the night before, and all the little office clones were busily working, trying to deliver the latest budget to the CEO Clause. Yet nothing was working, since no one had a clue, gave a damn, or remembered to ask the one person with real information any questions in english.

I'm so glad tomorrow is a holiday... now if I could magically...

Back from Japan. Why can't I get in a holiday mood this year?

Part of it is probably the weather, part of it is stress on the job. Part of it is not having any cool folks who need cool gifts.

Holidays have always been hard, even as a kid.

How do you get in a holiday mood?

fuzzybunny:
Memememe! How cool is the DeMask latex nun's habit, I ask? wink Heh.

Nah, surely xmas is fun when you have a boy to buy presents for, no?

Off to Toyko tomorrow. There for 2 days then back here... and people keep telling me that business travel is fun.

sigh

swirlygrrl:
I hope you have fun. I'm sure business travel isn't fun when you do it often, but going to Tokyo sure sounds like a blast! Have a safe trip!
fuzzybunny:
Eat some delicious eel while you're there, and think of me. And if you can, sample Hagen Daaz's Green Tea ice cream which I am told they have in Tokyo!

Okay, ever just treated yourself to something fun, yet so stupid you'd never admit it?

I decided to try and force a holiday spirit... decorated a tree. So to help, I delved into the forbidden collection of videotapes, and selected the classic "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation".

I hate to admit it, but it does help brighten my holidays, just thinking of how many ways things...

After a long weekend, is there anything tougher than facing the job you don't want to think about?

Or is it just me; that my mind prefers to dwell on the fultility of human fraility?

In many ways, we are not allowed to think for ourselves, do anything that is out of the norm (since the norm is now so broad that we all, by...

Oh god, never going to happen, not here, not now, not in this year and country. I wonder if they threw a rebellion how many people would even show up? Hmmm, for that matter, I wonder if I would, or if it would conflict with my nap time.

Think MASSIVE EMBEZZLEMENT, my friend. If your employer has the funds and you have the way, make plans now to steal a massive sum of money and just move with your family someplace pleasant and start all over!

Well, you could also seek more meaningful work. It's not as if you're unemployable, no? Easier said than done, but if anyone can find it, it is you.

Cheer up!
seitzu:
Thanks FB. as always good advice.

Embezzlement does sometimes cross my mind, when the numbers geet big enough...

As to searching for a new job, well, I can honestly state that I've never been one to sit around. My headache this time is that I have an assigned "shadow" to follow me around all day and report back in Japanese my activities each day.

however, there's always a way....

Meantime I've got a perfectly lovely house on the Cape I never get to see... so...

Another week has come and gone: coast to coast in 5 days.

I was in Baltimore for 4 days.. an interesting city, Baltimore. Managed to impress some influential types, had a few discussions about job opps.

Moved up to NY, NY. Nice to see NY is back to its normal, ugly attitude, no manners self. for a while I was worried that NY might actually...

hi ho, and so forth.

Well, my weekend is at an end, and it's back to the paranoid feature of dealing with the japanese.

On the other hand, I got to go run two soccer games, get fresh air and sunshine.

I also got my Evil Genius certificate, so I'm now a certified evil genius... course, no one on this site would know the reference...

tis a sunday, and while the rain has passed for the time being, Monday looms like a thunderhead. Back to trying to convince stupid people to do the right thing. All in all, I shouldn't complain... they pay me, I guess.

At what point does simply getting paid to do a job the moral equivalent of prostitution. Far worse than any other kind, I fear...
