Wow... what a shitty new year...

New Years Eve was by far the worst on record... Did nothing with no one and had no food or any sort of comfort.

Sounds like it's time for you to go digital.... it's a bit of an initial investment, but once you're there you can do all the shooting/editing/etc. by yourself with a reasonable computer. I have a lot of friends doing that now and it seems like the way to go.
