Update: It's still a marvel that I can even look at him when I we pass one another. Oh, oh, oh! Why don't I just stare at him until my eyelids drop off.

Devendra Banhart's 'Rejoicing in the Hands' has been in fairly constant play lately. It is sparse and slightly off, and it is sometimes the only thing to which I can listen.

I didn't do this project. So I'm going to skip French tomorrow and do it.

Today in pictorial narrative, the author of an article (that I personally disliked as a construction) came into class to discuss it. Apparently, the prof mentioned that I had brought up a good point in Tuesday's conference and -- oh! I wasn't there.

God. I'm such a BAD BAD art history major. I'll bet that that aspect of the stained glass windows went unaddressed...

Oh yes, that's useful.

It pisses me off that there are a lot of people out there that, upon seeing something strange, bizarre, beautiful and disconcerting all at once, immediately react with annoyance and confusion, rather than 'wait -- it must be performance art!'

Today I spent an hour working as part of someone else's spectacle. It involved eating donughts, picking flowers and pretending to be part of someone else's bureaucratic machine. And then I spelled out 'you are beautiful' with 30 other people, 30 peole on each letter once, to be grafted into one huge panorama.

...sometimes I get really upset that other people just don't... understand. And I have to be quiet for a very long time before that unsettling feeling really goes away. I just... can't tell anyone exactly how I feel. I don't know if it's because I don't trust anyone, or because I don't want to see how right I am.

I can resolve myself through the next seven weeks or so . Through the beginning of May.



Look! I received a photo ipod in the mail! Rejoice!

Instead of ripping off the covers and using it like the naughty device it is, I turned it into a gift to my photo prof. Although a good artist and passionate about the field, my school is kind of... not... asking him back this next year. Remarkably, it's actually improved his dynamic with students by making him more open, energenic, possessing more interesting criticism and just his generally being cooler. Therefore, it is now for his use... and I had the WONDERFUL pleasure of seeing him happy and knowing it was due to me... yay.

But! The primary kicker is that the free photo ipod program actually WORKS! I indeed received a 40 gig photo ipod in the mail on the first of the month.
