Finished the Invisibles series tonight. But I'll have to reread it before I digest it fully. I dunno what to think. I'm still pretty unclear on a lot of concepts so it's hard for me to discuss my ideas of the series as a hyper-sigil, which is something I've come across a lot in my readings. Er, not to mention that my journal is a completely irrelevant/inappropriate place to put it, 'cos no one would read it and be interested. Also, I'm really lame but absolutely loved the work that Jimenez did on tpbs 4-6, and then they had to go and start using various artists. Whyyy am I such a dirty dirty dirty whore for artistic homogenity? Why, dear lord!!! *cries whilst peeing furiously* I don't know. Volume III felt really anticlimactic to me in several ways -- primarily because I still haven't digested the significant of the supercontextualization at the very end -- but also, the splintering of the original cell/empahsis on vol. I characters was pretty distressing for me.

Oh yeah, and it also reminds me of when I was 11 and obsessed with voodoo. Scrawling veves on my grammar homework, chanting to loas during nutrition, all that. No one ever loved me in middle school. frown

Let's see. Bought a copy of Diary of a Drug Fiend by Crowley today. Because I'm just that cool.

I spent a while hanging out @ the movie theatre with Leslie. She was complaining about the fact that she was the only one who was working that night, which means she was swamped.

Me: Hmmm, well we both know that time is non-linear and crystalline and that all moments co-exist in the same point. So why don't you just say that the moment is the same as six hours from now and demand to be paid for your time worked?
Sadly enough the manager did not buy my argument. Grr! mad Or alternatively, arr! ARRR!!!

Although I guess that the counter-argument could be made that this is also the same moment at which she had received & spent the money, rendering any payment unnecessary. Why am I so boring? Why don't random people want to make out with me? (and by random I mean non creepy, and by random I really mean like, cool people approaching me on the street & volunteering to make out with me.)

On that note (excellent segue), I think I would like to get a lip piercing at some point. I will put off seriously considering it for another month at the very least. But I've never liked my lips that much because I think they're too full (one of the primary reasons I avoid wearing lipstick), but there's no better way to empower one's self-image than to decoate one's temple. (Consequently, I have applied to receive payment in exchange for getting naked on the internet. I hear that all the kids love naked goth dork chicks. Eh eh. Hopefully we shall see the results of this venture shortly.)

That is of course a VERY VERY silly attempt to examine how a nonlinear time format can be used to one's advantage but I think it is perfectly legtimiate. miao!!

Went on a long walk last night, from here down to the Santa Monica pier, then the Venice Beach, well to Ocean Front Walk. Ow ow ow. T'was a bad idea, as my legs were completely fucked today. Not to mention that it was around midnight and I am very small and cute looking. I bought a pack of cloves and smoked half the pack. I don't know why I bought them at all, I haven't smoked them... well I had a few drags during school, but specifically I had to get rid of a pack of them right before the Siouxsie & the Banshees concert last year because it was at the Palladium. Facists!

Soo now I am sitting here and listening to Jeff Buckley and being awesome. Still sad. But eh, leaving Los Angeles soon enough. smile

and Donkey Kong - you can't go wrong.

I could make a career of being blue
I could dress in black and read Camus
smoke clove cigarettes and drink vermouth
like I was 17
that would be a scream
- Magnetic Fields

Hmmm. I wish I had the $$$ so I could finish the Invisibles series.

Is there a character of Lemonkid on Monkey Island?
