CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE

spent the last week all across california, and i've a few things to say about it:

GREATEST ROAD IN THE UNITED STATES: the mountain road leading up to and down from the muir woods state park just outside of san francisco

speaking of frisco: there is a ben and jerry's at the corner of haight and ashbury. at least it isn't a starbucks =\

san francisco is too cold, too hilly, and it's too hard to find a cab. saw henry rollins at the warfield, though, and he was great. that place is kind of a dump, though. plus, the homeless people in SF are unreasonably aggressive

i must have spent over $300 between the amoeba record's in LA and SF

our first night in CA, my family and i stayed at a hotel in hollywood that was connected to the kodak theater, from where they annually broadcast the academy awards. we got a private tour of the facility. grestest afternoon ever

GREATEST JUNK FOOD IN THE UNITED STATES: in & out burger

we happened to be in hollywood the day that the nations largest organized anti war protest was taking place just down the block from the premiere of 'scooby doo 2'. it was very surreal

MOVIES I SAW: in hollywood, 'dawn of the dead' (GREAT). in san francisco, 'eternal sunshine of the spotless mind' (not perfect but still really good) and 'elephant' (GREAT). in st. helena (wine country, just outside of napa), 'touching the void' (boring)

a LOT of the people on the walk of fame are total losers.

sonoma county is as close as you can get to southern italy in the united states. it's unreasonably beautiful, and a gourmand's paradise. you can't throw a rock without hitting great food

flying STILL sucks
