i had another sleepless night and watched tv in bed and finally, finally among all the infomercials for home work out equipment, kitchen products. penis enlargement pills etc - i found the the first thing on tv that i found more interesting than anything i have seen in sometime....and its on PBS.

a woman from palestine, a pre med student with a fiance born and raised in the US - and their quest to not only plan a wedding but to get her out of her occupied country for the wedding in the US.

three baseball players from a terribly poor city in the dominican republic where the hopes of the whole family are on them to catch on with a major league baseball team in the states.

and a family from an african refugee camp that was relocatd to chicago without a clue of our culture, language or way of life. he has a wife and two kids and he is well educated but works a janitor job here to support his family and everyone back home thinks he is rich now and wants money.

i watched until 5am glued to their journey.

the stuggles with political red tape, language barrier, culture shock and racism.

those struggles are what makes a man, what brings a family together when u can overcome that.

i will never complain again about my petty troubles.
