Good morning to you all! I hope your Monday is off to a great start as we celebrate May the 4th! Ooo, which reminds me, I need to pay bills.
Been working on painting a model and I finally finished. It was not very extensive, I was just disappointed with the results of my painting. But it's a smaller scale model so I could not air brush it, thus the finish is not very smooth. Oh well. I got over that and took a look at the next step, which are the decals. Ugh, there are 167 decals and they are not symmetrical, so you put one on one side and the other side gets something completely different. This will take some time. And since these are water decals, they need to be soaked in warm water for a few seconds, placed, then they need to dry. You definitely cannot touch them. Then after I need to varnish over them or they can flake off. Ugh, very fiddly. So I decided that I need to finish the necklace first then move on to the model afterwards since this takes lots of concentration as well. The necklace is half finished.
Mother's Day is a week away, so I need to get my Mom's necklace into the mail today or tomorrow to make sure it and the card get there on time. We've found, through trial and error, that she's allergic to every flower that we've sent, so usually it's just a card, with a bit of Amazon money in it. I used to send her more jewelry, but she's kinda full on jewelry right now, so this will be a first in many years.
Not much going on today, laundry, necklace, food. Yesterday was a slug day, neither Karen nor I felt like doing a thing. It was bleh. Today I'm hoping for more success. What are you up to today? Any fun plans? Well, as fun as they can be while we are all in quarantine.
