Ugh, I have been neglecting you all, and I am so sorry. Let's see, quick update...went to Houston to see my twin nephews graduate Hugh School. Thought I had a sinus infection, turned out to be the start of shingles (which is very early for me, but still possible)....
This morning the right side of my face is really swollen and my right eye is swollen shut. I was woken at 6:00 to a constant ear ache. I'm hoping this will all pass soon and is because I sleep on my right side. I think it's getting better already.
A few notes about shingles. **sigh** It's not just for old people and it does not start out with that rash that they keep showing in commercials. I thought I was having this strange pimple outbreak in my right eyebrow. So for me it started after being sick for a week, and since I am immuno-suppressed already (meds I take for psoriasis) it took advantage. So these "pimples" turned out to be little boils (also one at the top of my head, but I'm still hoping it's my narwhal horn finally coming out), and this is typically the first sign of shingles. If you go to the doc right away when this first starts, you can get a 7 day series of meds that will help and derail the progression into the very painful rash. I am thankful that Karen hounded me to go to an urgent care place in Houston and that they mentioned the very remote possibility and that we should watch for this (I was the first one that this actually happened to for them, so they were thrilled that the warning helped. Us too.). So here I am, waiting for this to clear, hoping it doesn't get worse, knowing that, because it's me, it probably will. **sigh**
Also, shingles is a stupid name for this.
I get to pick Phryne up from the vet today! So excited to see her!!!!
