*Note: Thank you so much for the support shown after my last journal, it was a bad place to be in and knowing that people care helped me out. And sorry if I depressed anyone with my depression*
Here was my day today: Well the best part of it anyway
Steped outside the front door, sighed because of the rain and the half hour drive in torrential rain to oakville to catch the 5:30 train to Toronto. A train stalls and I realize I won't make it at 5:30. The thought of speeding like hell creeps into the mind but for some reason I tend to score all the red lights on my drive... bah. End up making the train station at 5:35 one of my friends (not the ones that piss me off sometimes) stayed to wait for me while the other one went to meet the rest of the group at Union station.
The train ride to Union station is silent and contemplative, thinking of past events and what may or may not have gone wrong. Union station, crowded, noisy, the way it always is didn't last long as we rushed down the rainy streets of T.O to get to the concert venue.
It was leaking in the Kool Haus, But that didn't matter, The first band takes the stage, a chick band called Damone, to which I candidly refered to my friends as "Live on Realease called they want their everything back" recieved a big laugh for my humor and we sat through Damone. Further seems Forever was up next, having known a few of their songs I was excited to see this band. Their singer blew me away as he portrayed the good mix of melody and emotion and yelling and screaming that I love out of the bands I listen to.
I can't say enough good things about The Julianna Theory and their set, It blew me away and gave my ears an orgasm. When they closed with "You always say goodnight, goodnight" and played the solo the lights were shinning in my eyes so I closed them and feel into this stupor as the music melted around me and I was in a state of peace. After the Julianna Theory I ended up running into two old friends who I haven't seen in a while. It was like old times they were still just as awesome and friendly as they ever have been. Although they were drunk and high, but still I felt the love.
The ataris were on not long after and knocked my socks off. I was glad to hear "take offs and landings" but when they ended the first part of their set I was thinking Julianna Theory did a better set. Then the Ataris came back on stage, they did an acoustic version of the "The Saddest Song" with just Kris Roe with his guitar pouring out all this emotion it was beautiful. Then they played "In this Diary" and the Julinna Theory and Further Seems Forever came out and sang it with them and jumped into the crowd, it was an awesome visual. Closing with "San Dimas High School Football Rules" rounded out the set and the entire night.
The drive home was filled with lonely empty roads and singing at the top of my lungs to Taking Back Sunday. That was my day and Im so glad it happened.
*Note: Yeah it was long, but I felt like writting a lot about that show, so there!!!**
