I'm hardly here anymore but wanted to wish you and yours a happy and healthy 2012.

rexx:

come visit pittsburgh!!! it is tiny but magical in its own unique little way. smile i believe i am moving back there, very impermanently. the boy's band members are there and a good number of friends (in richmond). it has proven to be far from my favorite city but there is an amazing used bookstore that is unmatched so far in my travels of the united states so i'll give the city one more whirl. i can live anywhere and i still have one or two old friends there that i wouldn't mind having some beers with now and again. so probably towards the end of next summer i'll take one for the team and we'll move there. how is life in california?! strangely enough, i am listening to isis as we speak. smile have you seen any epic shows lately? i know you always have some sort of jealousy-invoking musical adventure up your sleeve biggrin how is reeses?! i want to come back sometime.i just learned that there is a museum of death in hollywood which is probably corny and a total money black hole but it still sounds, ya know, kinda cool. let me know what's new!

Whoa, what's a practicum?? Sounds impressive & difficult! I've not been up to anything as cool as that, just prepping my house to be rented out cuz we're moving in a month! smile

Yummy soup!

wsoxfan:

Thanks for the good wishes.

Things are looking up for the Sox. They have had the Red Sox number for a while. I think they've beaten them 10 out of 12 times. The pitching has really kicked in since the All Star game. Lester is tough, but I'm looking for Humber to match him pitch for pitch tonight.

Hope you're doing well.

Lat night I caught a late showing of Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life here in Hollywood, CA. It was like being inside someone's prayer. It was a symphony, a poem, and a painting. Both believers and non-believers alike will relate to the film and realize that they are not so different after all. It's quite possibly one of the most beautifully...

The weekend was mostly okay, although things seem to never meet my full expectations.

The same thing can be said about my trip. It was good, but not as good as I'd have hoped. Oh well, at least there are some positive things going on for me. Hope all is well with you.

ahlam:

I saw you post about it in the Films group but I wasn't sure if it was a rave review or a bad one. wink
I'm really curious about this movie, I can't wait to see it.

Did anyone grab the latest limited edition Johnny Cupcakes x Hello Kitty release? I stood in line for approximately an hour to get in the Melrose Ave store here in Los Angeles, CA. I grabbed a couple t-shirts and coffee mugs for me and some friends. There were a lot of devoted Johnny Cupcakes and Hello Kitty fans. Most of the stuff has sold out...

I LOVE that pastry chef mug!

I know a 45 year old wman that's really into Hello Kitty. I don't know if it's a coincidence, but her nickname happens to be Kitty.

I'll have to get some places of interest in LA from you at some point. I want to visit while I'm in California, but I don't really know what to do there except Universal Studios. ooo aaa

The Go-Go's are an all-female American band formed in Los Angeles, CA in 1978. They made Billboard album chart history as the first all-female band that both wrote their own songs and played their own instruments. To celebrate this historic band, I bought pre-sale tickets yesterday. Since I don't have a Go-Go's t-shirt, I'll be wearing this badge to the show...

Thanks. Will have my digital camera ready to take lots of pics.

We'll be seeing Kannapolis, the White Sox single A affiliate.

acacia:

I bet ebay would have a low-priced selection of Go-Go's shirts. wink

Have a blast!

Big win last night for the Sox. They're starting to catch some breaks. Pitching is starting to be really good, although I can't believe Danks is 0-6. I picked him to win the Cy Young before the season.

It's nice of you to post a comment since you're so busy.

It was 'Opening Day' here in the greater Los Angeles area as well as other cities across the country. Since I wasn't at the Dodger game this year, my sister and I decided to visit The Bottle Room and fork out a little or should I say a lot for an elegant 'Mikkeller Black Tie' 11.5% (22oz bottle). Cheers! Here's to America...

I'd settle for a Dodgers - Sox WS right now. Let the games begin.

wsoxfan:

I'd love nothing better than to join you for a Sox-Dodgers WS game. Unfortunately, finances would make that impossible. We'd have to find another way to share such a great event.

It's 'Oscar Best Picture Runner-Ups Week' at Arclight Cinemas here in Southern California, so I went to my local Arclight Cinemas here in Pasadena, CA to see 'Finding Neverland', starring Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet. The movie chronicles J.M. Barrie's magical and melancholic inspiration for both the Peter and Wendy characters in Peter Pan. In case you're wondering, 'Finding Neverland' was...

I'm afraid I'll gain weight by just looking at that cake.

I'll probably watch the Yankees later today. The Sox open up against the Indians tomorrow with Buehrle making his 9th straight opening day start.

What a testament to his durability. He's been my favorite current player almost since he was brought up in 2000. Wilber Wood and La Marr Hoyt are still numbers 1 and 2 all time.
