Hey kittens!
After a year off from the digital world, I'm back!
I took a much needed break for my mental and physical health. Things were pretty crazy last year and I just couldn't keep up with everything - work, family, mental health stuff, posting... I was so used to this place (SG) making me feel better when I was sad. So when I started feeling major anxiety about online life, I knew I needed to take a real break!
I usually keep it pretty close to the cuff, but my husband and I started IVF treatment about a year and a half ago. We've been trying to get pregnant for a long time and last year we ramped up the efforts majorly. I won't go into too much detail on my treatment regimen, but it was like a second job lmao. Just a lot to do and my main priority was just taking care of myself and being healthy. So far we have been unsuccessful. There have been so many hopes and disappointments. After meds and retrievals and transfers and too many needles to count, I now need a break from all that for a while lol. So I'm taking a little summer vacation from treatment right now - the first one I've had since we started.
I'm really looking forward to enjoying the summer! Because I live in Florida, it is pretty much already here haha. I'm going to get tan and travel and probably get a massage :) I'm going to order some new books (mostly smut and whatever you all recommend of course) and ride my bike through the greenway near my house. If I'm lucky I'll get to do a camping trip somewhere I can ride my bike AND see the water.
Yesterday I went down to the coast and road through a wildlife refuge - I saw 3 gators! One of them was actually pretty big and right off the trail, but he ran off when we rode by. We stopped for a picnic lunch at a spot for leave no trace camping and it was beautiful and very remote. I love to camp, but not with no bathroom and by lots of water full of alligators!! If I'm honest I'll be going glamping this summer haha
What do you do to recharge your batteries? Do you have summer rituals that make you feel happy the season is here?
I've been gone so long, off to look at new sets! Can't wait to see what everyone has been up to :)
