The @bloghomework this week is a real challenge! I agree with what @chefbethrogers said in her post, what music I listen to so depends on my mood! Sometimes I need something to rage to and sometimes it's ballads for days lol. I love stuff I can sing to and I tend to go through phases (Pink Friday anyone? lol) so these are a few songs I always come back to. In no particular order, here are 5 of my all time favorites:
1. I Will Survive by Cake. I love any version of this song, but something about this one makes it my fav. I've actually been listening to it on repeat in my car the past few days on the way to work.
2. What it is by Amy Winehouse. I love this woman's voice and this particular song really showcases her talent. (Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow and Girl from Ipanema by her are also quite wonderful!)
3. Dream a Little Dream by The Mamas and the Papas. It's so... dreamy! This song will get stuck in my head for days on end. It's also a favorite of mine to sing in the shower ;)
4. Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap. The first time I heard this song I was standing in the middle of the mall and literally stopped in my tracks. I hadn't ever heard anything like it and I had no way to figure out what it was - if only I had Shazam back then! I tried in vain to explain it to friends but no one knew who/what I was talking about so I forgot about it... until literally a couple years later a friend gave me a mixed CD of Imogen Heap and was like, here I think you'll like this. That song came on and I was like, holy fuck! Things like that are funny.
5. Lastly (and this is so difficult because there are so many songs to choose from!) I'm going with You're so Last Summer by Taking Back Sunday. It's kinda nostalgic for me and reminds me of high school haha, but I still love it.
