I see you and its not all music to my ears
Is this a problem? Whenever I hear of artists working on their new or continuing project, I immediately picture them in there space feverishly working. Either it be an ashtray full of butts piling up as the writer is pounding out his/her thoughts, a painter/sculptor having their music bringing in the ambience's, or a musician having a cup of coffee by his/her side. It can also be the routine the person takes to make this happen. I try to capture the environment that is surrounding me. You know what...I think about it too much and it ruins it completely.
So if your wondering what this leading to, there is an art to everything we do. It takes allot for me to shut the world out for hours on end. Yet I want to so bad. Believe me, there are allot of things that I just don't want to care about and don't care about. Obviously inspiration comes from the world. Am I right or Am I wrong?
So that leads into this. I had to house-sit my dad's all week. Nothing wrong with that, glad I did it. However, doing that put me off track and now I have to gain my footing to get anything done. So, how often am I going to say tomorrow is another day. Well, until you start to feel that something is missing. Then its back to the drawing board, whether it be writing, painting, sculpting, or writing a song. I'm not excluding just those four from any other creative endeavors that are out there.
There are also those days where I have absolutely no obligation. When I know I have those days coming up, I plan accordingly. So lets say I get up in the morning have my warm mug of coffee check the world of the internet. Ok..got that out of the way. Now what I am going to do now? Read? Write? Write a song? Work on a song? Um....read. Ok so I get my book out, get a few pages deep then it hits me. I should be writing a song. I should be working on a song. It is a ongoing jog up hill.
