pfew. got through that one!
hey my birthday is 2 days after the chinese new year this year. the monkey loves dragons!!
thanks for the early birthday wishes in the previous journal. i been up doing homework all night, i am not doing a damn thing today. for school, at least.
i thought of this most wonderful lady when i woke up today :
she always sent me the funniest birthday cards. she spelled exactly how she talked and im not sure it was on purpose... she'd write 'dis' and 'dat'. i dont think she'd approve of my current defeatist attitude about shit so that's going to change. i'm just used to her being around to keep me in check! so my 27th year is dedicated to her. and re-learning how to live what she taught me.
and what the boy from last spring taught me as well. i'd be worrying and talking about some little thing and he'd look at me and say ... you know what i don't care because i'm alive... and that'd be the end of that and we'd go for a drive or go sit outside on the river and make each other laugh. how easily i forget the best lessons!
so yea.
in other news, school is kind of fun this semester, my foot itches like a motherbitch but i can wear normal shoes again and 30 days til i go to nyc! i may decide i am staying there forever

well... I'm not that familiar with frank's later work, but from what I understand he became famous when he was young and then moved on to other things like film and whatnot.
I like the fact that he didn’t just keep repeating himself just to cash in. Even if it meant not putting out the most popular work.
Not that I think Rosenquist was “selling out” or anything . But I do think that he took earlier ideas he was working with, like odd color and scale juxtapositions and just started to repeat them in a more decorative way.
I guess what I’m saying is that I think he HAS become stagnant. I mean… a large part of the guys output for the last 20 years has been prints of paintings he has already made.
So your coming to New York huh… to bad your going to just miss the show. Well there’s lots of others to check out while you’re here. You should go see chuck close and at the metropolitan. I havn't seen it yet but I'm going later this week and I heard from friends it's really good.
anyway...27 was a pretty good year for me hopefully it will for you to
