I am doing some swimming lessons today. It has been so long since I've been swimming (I mean real swimming, I do swim a lot but very roughly) that I've completely lost my co-ordination. I have tried to get it back but it turns out I just have no rhythm in the water. How unfortunate for me. I feel so...well I don't feel great. I feel inadequate. Like I should be able to swim. I love swimming. I swim often. I just don't swim with any sort of nice stroke. I can do a back stroke still but that's pretty much it, and even that is lacking. I do have a torn rotator cuff to content with. It's been a good excuse for a while. But now it's time to deal with this and get swimming again. I am looking forward to it.

My mother has agreed to watch my baby for the lesson, which is really nice of her since it's pretty early in the morning right now. I hope that we can work something out so I can go swimming tomorrow too. I am going out of town next week and although I think my hotel has a gym, I won't have a baby sitter so I guess I'll skip next week. I mean I think they have a pool too but now I don't know. I guess it doesn't matter since I can't utilize either. But we'll get enough exercise walking around the city I'm sure. I'm looking forward to trying out all the vegan places that I can afford in Portland. They seem to have a nice collection of them. Plus I am trying to meet up with a few people from high school who have moved there. That will be nice. Well, I really should get on with my day. So much to do.
