I would really like to get a tattoo on my arm but professionally it may be a bad idea to get a visible tattoo. I feel like I should be true to myself and do what I wish with my body, but I don't want to do something that will keep me from getting a job in a place that I want to work.
I will say though that when I finish doing some networking certifications I will be more employable in that area and maybe I should go for the tattoos and realize I have something to fall back on while I look for a proper job even if I do have the tattoos. I was hoping to do networking while I'm in medical school. We shall see how it all works out. I think it's quite sad that there is still a stigma towards women with tattoos (and men) as being non-professional.
I was also thinking of getting my lip re-pierced. That is something I can't have while being a medic though for safety and hygiene laws. So I may or may not go through with that. I removed all of my piercings a while ago for several reasons but now I want some of them back. And I think maybe my first tattoo should be a cover up of the tattoo on my breast since that is starting to bother me. I would actually like the same idea but maybe someone with some real artistic talent can design a tattoo that would actually look like art. It was the second I ever got so it's fairly faded as well. But I just wish I had demanded a better design. I was too shy back then.
Found a good tattoo artist where I live though so I'm really excited to see what he can do for my tattoos.
